The Namibia Expedition is the ultimate unpaved dual-sport safari. This 16-day journey is a massive geographical loop engineered to avoid highway transits, linking remote farm tracks, sweeping gravel corridors, and rugged mountain passes instead. We chart a course from the immense depths of the Fish River Canyon in the far south, through the world’s highest red sand dunes, all the way to the tropical, palm-fringed river oasis of Epupa Falls on the Angolan border. This tour is built specifically for riders who want to experience the raw, shifting faces of the desert from the saddle of a lightweight adventure motorcycle.

Route
Our loop kicks off from Windhoek, clearing the high mountain passes south of the capital to hit the flowing unpaved tracks of the Kalahari fringe. We push deep into the arid south, riding wide gravel highways down to the monumental viewpoints of the Fish River Canyon before turning west. A fast asphalt run across the wind-swept desert plains brings us straight to the Atlantic coast at Lüderitz to explore the sand-filled ruins of Kolmanskop Ghost Town. Heading north along the scenic Tiras Mountain boundary, we tackle the legendary D707 loop, snaking directly between towering orange dunes and dark granite peaks to reach the gates of Sesriem.
The mid-section of the tour tests your gravel skills as we conquer the steep, rocky switchbacks of the Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons, stopping for a slice of legendary apple pie at Solitaire before dropping into the cool, misty coastal town of Swakopmund. From here, we charge north along the salt-saturated highway parallel to the Skeleton Coast, visiting the massive Cape Cross seal colony before cutting abruptly inland into the rugged, volcanic boulder terrain of Damaraland. Next is a massive, demanding dual-sport day through remote Kaokoland, climbing Joubert Pass and using Opuwo strictly for a fast fuel-and-ice pitstop before dropping into the palm-lined oasis of Epupa Falls on the Angolan border.
The final leg tracks south to our private staging lodge right on the boundary fence of Etosha National Park. Our final riding days run east to see the massive Hoba Meteorite, followed by an evening of boutique wine tasting in the fertile limestone hills of the Otavi Valley. We finish our journey by carving past the dramatic red sandstone cliffs of the Waterberg Plateau, before a smooth tarmac run delivers us cleanly back into Windhoek.
