About Akiiki Moto Tours

About Akiiki Moto Tours

We didn't set out to start a tour company. We just didn't want the trip to end.

Built on Local Knowledge

Marc and Sarah drove 35,000km through 12 African countries before Akiiki existed — no clients, no schedule, just a 4x4 and a decision to see how far it would go. It went far enough that they came home and built a business so they could do it again, on purpose this time, with other people along.

Today we run tours across South Africa, Namibia, and Angola — the Swartberg, Sani Pass, the D707 through the Namib dunes, Angola's Serra da Leba. Real gravel roads, not the postcard version of them.

Marc Nicol

Marc Nicol

Founder & Lead Guide

Marc's been riding since he was seven — four decades on two wheels, the last two of them planning a life around it. He's a certified Adventure Guide and Wilderness First Responder, and before any route goes on this site, he's ridden it himself — including the tracks through Angola most operators won't touch.

Sarah Pearce

Sarah Pearce

Support Driver & Head Chef

Sarah co-founded Akiiki and runs the logistics no one sees — routes, permits, spares, bookings. She also cooks. No catering contractor, no boil-in-a-bag; if you eat well on tour, that's Sarah.
